Ideas for Fundraisers
Fun Fundraising
There are many ways in which you can raise money for the work of WWF. Here are a few ideas from recent fundraisers to help inspire you.
Marathons
At the 2010 Edinburgh Marathon over £7,000 was raised from the teams and individuals entered. A very big Thank You to them all, but a special mention goes to the following: James Taylor who raised £825.64, Kenneth McArthur -£710.38, Tim Foley - £874.74 and the Tiger Lilies relay team who raised the magnificent sum of £1113.80
Half Marathon
Elizabeth Cripps raised £649.41 after competing in the Chris Hoy half marathon
Guides and Brownies
Guide and Brownie packs across Scotland raise lots of money for our work. Here are a few ways in which they have recently raised money:
- 3rd Inverkeithing Brownies held a sponsored silence and raised £50.00
- 1st Alyth Guidesworked on the Changing the Eorld initiative and raised £108.00
- Ellon Brownies had a Bake Sale and raised £260.00
- 4th Parkway Brownies had a Pamper Night and raised £140.00
- 2nd 'A' Kilmarnock Brownies had a Coffee Evening and raised £275.00
A big Thank You to them all
Schools
Many schools across Scotland hold fund raising events for charity and we are pleased to say that the following schools nominated WWF Scotland as the recipient of their efforts:
- Newburgh Primary School -had a non-unifrom day and raised £27.31
- Bruntsfield Primary School - Dressed up as their favourite animals for the day and gave money for the privilege. They raised £60
- George Heriot's School held a cake and cany sale and raised £127.47
- Baljaffray Primary School donated £1,000.00 in aid of Save the Tiger
I am sure all the children had a lot of fun planning their activities.
Individuals
A very aware young lady called Ellie Davidson asked her friends to donate money instead of giving her birthday presents and raised the fantastic amount of £200 that she donated to the Panda Appeal.
Under the Scotland's Garden Scheme the Cox family of Glendoick opened their garden and donated £589.60 to our work.
North West Edinburgh Eco Club held a silent auction which raised £400 for our work.
And finally.......
If you do decide to hold an event, in whatever format, if you could please state on any publicity material that your event is 'in aid of WWF', rather than on behalf of, that would be great. This is due to new laws that govern charity fundraising.
Thank You
