Derek Munn

Derek has most recently worked as Director of Public Affairs for lesbian and gay equality organisation Stonewall, a role embracing Parliamentary lobbying, research, policy, the organisation’s information service and work in the education field.

Before joining Stonewall in 2007, Derek was Special Adviser to the First Minister of Scotland. Derek advised the First Minister on a range of policy areas including the environment, health, Europe, the constitution and culture. Prior to this senior role in government he held influential positions in the Scottish Parliament and a political party.

Earlier in his career Derek ran the research and training programmes of the Scottish Council for Single Homeless and was President of the National Union of Students Scotland. He has extensive voluntary experience including chairing the board of Edinvar Housing Association.
