The Natural Change Project
The Natural Change Project in Scotland
The Natural Change Project was developed as an innovative response to the growing evidence that current environmental campaigns are not resulting in the depth of behaviour change necessary. Using a pioneering values-based approach to inspire a diverse group of individuals, the project incorporated ideas from eco psychology, personal development, outdoor experiences, mentoring and leadership skills.
For the past six months, a diverse set of influential professionals have been participating in WWF’s internationally innovative Natural Change Project to create sustainable behaviour and attitude change.
The Project’s Action Research report, Natural Change – Psychology and Sustainability, reveals some exciting outcomes and recommendations for future behaviour change approaches and environmental campaigns.
As one participant, Louise Macdonald (Chief Executive, Young Scot & Chair of RSA in Scotland), puts it “this project is making me think big, prompting questions far beyond ‘is my washing up liquid environmentally friendly?’”
Natural Change –psychology and sustainability reveals the process of change that took place for The Natural Change Project participants, the workshop approaches used and makes valuable recommendations for future behaviour change campaigns.
The full blogs from the participants and facilitators, accompanied by beautiful photographs, are available on the project website www.naturalchange.org.uk
